Ruse Vegan Kitchen

Ruse Vegan Kitchen is a popup kitchen that travels around Las Vegas. For more vegan restaurants and options in Las Vegas, visit www.vegansbaby.com/vegansbaby2018

Before we even get your hearts a-flutter with all the goodness — Ruse Vegan Kitchen is a pop-up that, well, pops up. Check their Facebook page for where they’re going to be next and then, you know the drill. Go.

Ruse Vegan Kitchen is looking to shake up the vegan community by creating freshly handmade dishes that leave you with a happy, full tummy… and wallet! A small but mighty menu includes four deliciously spiced items that range from $3.75 to $7 each, which means we had to try it all! Except for the Falafel Burger because they weren’t available. Fine, you twisted our arm. Two Tofu Tacos it is!

We followed Ruse Vegan Kitchen all the way to one of their bi-weekly popups in Old Henderson at Lovelady Brewing Company (side note – Lovelady is super dog-friendly with great owners, a cute patio, and vegan-friendly beers so long as you steer clear of the sours.

Ruse opens their small tent at the entrance of the Brewery every other Sunday (always! check! their! calendar! before! you! go!). They also regularly set up at Bruce Trent Farmer’s Market and another local favorite, Crafthaus Brewery which also serves up mainly vegan beers.

Now to the food.

The Tofu Satay Tacos are marinated in lemongrass and topped with a peanut sauce and coriander slaw. Light, tasty, and for $3.75 each, we had to get two. Even better — their sparking some hype over on Instagram reporting that they’re adding a new Chimichurri beef taco with Shishito peppers to their menu. So, obviously, we’ll be back sooner than later to try ’em.

Our personal favorite is the Spicy Italian Sausage. House-made vegan sausage, balsamic onions, peppers smothered with spicy mustard, how can you go wrong?! Sharing is caring, but if you’re like us, you’re not going to want to share.

The final — and most impressive item — on their menu is the Vegan Lamb Gyro. Yes, Ruse went for gold on this one. Housemade vegan lamb with marinated onion, cucumber and tomato. It is topped with harissa (we asked for spicy!) and tahini tzatziki. Promise, your first bite will have you licking your lips and wishing you had room for another one.

Wherever you visit Ruse Vegan Kitchen, you won’t be disappointed. Go support this new vegan popup: a fresh eatery that was started because a couple wanted to share their awesomely good recipes without overcharging! Also, can you order us an Italian Sausage to go?
