If you’ve never visited Amena Mediterranean Cafe, go! This vegan-friendly Las Vegas Mediterranean restaurant on S. Decatur is a hidden gem. It’s filled with vegan options, from the 10 types of hummus (yes, 10!) to salads, falafel and more. The hype is real here, and resorts around town are in the know regarding the dishes Amena creates — they serve them at the resorts!

Vegan Options at Amena

First off, the bread here is on point. Fresh baked pita bread in wheat or white is soft and chewy. The manakesh zatar is a must if you’ve never had it. The oven-baked pita comes topped with herbs, thyme, olive oil and sesame seeds.

Then, there are a variety of vegan salads to devour. The Amena salad features lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and onions. There’s also the perfect Tabbouleh with chopped parsley, green onion, tomatoes, mint, crushed wheat (if you’re gluten-free, ask to hold that) and olive oil. Finally, the Fattoush Salad comes with pita chips, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and onions.

Amena also serves up veggie soup and lentil soup, couscous, stuffed grape leaves and the lentil dish, magadara.

But, there are even more vegan options like the falafel. It’s amazing (we devoured them immediately) and comes either as a sandwich or platter, an open-face eggplant sandwich, baba ganoush and more.

For dessert, order up the fresh baklava or kunaffe with walnuts and wash it down with a Turkish coffee.
