Forte Tapas

Forte Tapas have a vegan menu and many gluten-free vegan items. For more vegan options in Las Vegas, visit www.vegansbaby.com/vegansbaby2018

Helmed by boss babe Nina Manchev, who opened Forte in her early 20s (it’s been around for almost a decade), this Eastern European tapas spot recently launched an all vegan menu complete with a party hosted by Vegans, Baby.

While the restaurant has always been vegan-friendly, now it takes a step into the serious category with its new vegan menu. Honestly, there’s nothing on this menu that isn’t spectacular. The food is healthy with no mock meats and is one of our favorite spots in town for whole plant food options.

Start with the rosemary flatbread (it’s a must!) and then dive right in.

Forte’s vegan salads include the Mediterranean, made with field tomatoes, Persian cucumbers, red onions, basil, mint, olives, parsley, fresh peppers and olive oil, the Ibiza salad with mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, red onions, quinoa, crushed Marcona almonds in an olive oil and jerez reduction, the Bulgarian bean relish and mixed wild mushrooms with pickled garlic and fresh dill (that’s another must to order).

If you’re in the mood for soup, Forte’s vegan options include lentil, Spanish bean, summer chickpea gazpacho and an Heirloom tomato and watermelon soup.

Vegan tapas at Forte run from Spanish olives and Guindilla peppers to Plov, an Uzbeki-style rice pilaf and Vareniki, potato dumplings with fried onions. Plates include Gyuvech, a traditional Bulgarian veggie stew with eggplant, potatoes and imported herbs and spices, as well as wild mushroom Pelmeni and veggie paella.

Forte also has a selection of vegan wine in their bodega and every Wednesday you can purchase it at their shop and enjoy it at the restaurant with no corkage fee.

Go. Feast. Be merry. And enjoy the new vegan eats at Forte.
